Ordained ministry takes many different forms, each with a variety of challenges. All too often, clergy find themselves isolated and alone, whether they are serving in a small rural parish, in a large city, or even in a large multi-staff congregation. Professional expectations (personal, external, or both) make it difficult to be open and vulnerable enough to gain understanding and support.
The Support in Ministry Workshop is designed to help clergy overcome the barriers to gaining the support so important to their own health and ministry. The program will employ such methodologies as the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the LIFO Inventory, which assesses how one’s response styles change under stress. Participants will be helped to see how this information can enable them to seek healthy support in their home environments.
